Last time I wrote some random thoughts regarding the GUI guide of N9.
Id love to share some thoughts on N9s UI behaviors today.
Honestly my experience with n9 is totally from the Internet due to its absence in Taiwan and also My empty wallet. I read n9s manual digitally and did some research on YouTube for better hands-on videos.
So, if u find something odd form my comments here please do let me know. Oook, Now here I list out the good features on n9.
1. No hardware keys and even virtual keys on galaxy nexus needed.
2. Better way to close current app. Simply slide down from the top edge of the phone.
3. A place to log in and out all the IM services at once or individaully.
4. Text your contact via different service(ex.facebook) directly from your contact page.
5. Better way to list and arrange multitasking apps.
6. Interesting yet unique to set up a clock alarm.
But there are still some aspects I would love to change.
1. The way to close apps in multitasking page is similar to ios system,
which is not as intuitive as the whole n9 experience. I would say android 4 presents a more simplyed way to do it but I occasionally closed apps due to my unprecise gesture.
2. Similar to 1. The way to remove apps has the same problem.
Neither iOS nor android 4 offers a better simpler solution to this. Especially when you have many apps need to be removed at once. 3. No widgets. Yes the iOS doesn't have that, too.
There were some interesting disussions aroused among Me and my colleagues in terms of how apple will put there widgets. Quiet a few of us voted for the search page where now is super space there.
Some said it would be the notifaton dropdown to store these widgets.
Well, I find it interesting that n9 does provide a flexibility to extend its structure.
What I am saying is they can simply cramp a new page to its existing 3 paged structure.
Thus Users can just pan to the widget page. Its a neater way for me to find my widget info comparing to android system.
